The season ends with the Super Bowl

New England over Philadelphia –

The Colts pass better than the Eagles, and the Patriots stopped the Colts. The Steelers run better than the Eagles, and the Patriots stopped the Steelers. It seems to me the Eagles can’t win this game with their offense.

I’m not convinced the Eagles’ defense is any better than the Steelers’ defense and the Patriots scored plenty in Pittsburgh. The Eagles blitz better, but pressure on the quarterback doesn’t work as well against teams that don’t make mistakes, throw lots of screens and have a solid QB – and all three of those describe New England.

The Patriots have a lot of good, controlled drives and put up points every way they can while the Eagles get a couple of big plays but don’t manage much more than that.
