NFL week 12 and comments

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

1. Indianapolis
Clear front-runner for Super Bowl XL

2. Denver
Losing in Indy in a later round of playoffs this year

3. Seattle
Lucky wins over Dallas, NYG seem to make this a destined team

4. NY Giants
Hiccups against good teams might make them a wild card, not a division winner

5. Pittsburgh
Only losing to the good teams…but still losing to them

6. Carolina
Making wins happen however they can – Seattle’s best contender.

7. San Diego
Give the ball to Tomlinson, please

8. Cincinnati
Loss to Colts shows they are close but not there

9. Dallas
4 FG away from being perfect

10. Kansas City
Good, not great, and no talent at WR

11. Chicago
Gonna need O at some point, but not yet

12. Atlanta
Schizoid team

13. Jacksonville
Loss of QB Leftwich could actually help them.

14. Tampa Bay
Simms? Griese? Is this team playing in 1974? 1985?

15. Philadelphia
Dropping like a sack of rocks – outside playoffs looking in.

16. New England
See Eagles, Philadelphia, Will lose first round playoff game at home to Pittsburgh.

17. Minnesota
Showing signs of life – Tice will still get fired.

18. Washington
Pathetic loss to Oak and tough loss to SD, this team is a pretender.

19. St.Louis
Beating Texans doesn’t impress.

20. Miami
Winning ever since they said they didn’t care about winning.

21. Buffalo
Losman? Why’d you give up so much for him?

22. Cleveland
They can run the ball…is that it?

23. Oakland
Lose at home to Miami? Just good enough to not get a good draft pick.

24. Arizona
Too little too late.

25. Tennessee
Lining up a draft pick.

26. New Orleans
Lining up a new stadium deal in SA/LA

27. NY Jets
J – E – T – S. Where is Richard Todd when you need him?

28. Green Bay
Losing so bad might be the only thing to keep Favre around.

29. San Francisco
Bush and Smith together?

30. Detroit
Fired the coach when they should have fired the GM and O-Line and receivers and defense.

31. Houston
Defeat from Jaws of victory. Don’t expect Capers coaching here next season.

32. Baltimore
Score a season-high…but not until they were four TDs down and game was decided.

Ravens’ problem? Can’t draft Leinart with first pick without admitting they were stupid to take
Kyle Boller. They could use Reggie Bush to go with Jamal Lewis but in truth it’s the D that isn’t
feared any longer.

Now that they continue to flounder in disarray I have elevated the Ravens to the worst team in football.
If I had to own one of the two teams, I’d choose the Texans over the Ravens. If I can to coach one of them, I’d coach the Texans.
I don’t expect Billick to be around next year if they have the first pick of the draft.

I wonder what the Ravens would do with the #1 pick? Take Leinart? That team needs another unproved QB like their helmets need a third ear-hole. Reggie Bush? They have a runner. Bush makes since if you plan to play him at multiple positions. As always, they would be better off trading down and gaining something, anything to improve their pathetic non-existent offense.
