NFL Playoffs

Wow, good to be a Colt Fan.
O-Line doesn’t block, bad calls going into your direction, guy picks up a fumble with open field, 3 teammates and one opposing player…and you can’t block or pitch to a teammate? That Colt defender should have pitched the ball to someone else and thrown a block and his team wins. That said, the Steelers caught a break on Hines Ward full-fledged facemask on a 50 yard pass that doesn’t get called. When is the NFL going to call offensive guys on grabbing the face mask?

Thus, Pittsburgh goes into Denver. I think Denver has a better shot against them than they did New England but the Steelers have a huge chance to win that game.

Seattle? Did exactly what we thought they’d do, as did Carolina.

Denver? Yeah…um, don’t act tough when you’re outgained by a ton of yards. Any NFL team wins if they get 3 possessions starting inside the opposing 20 so don’t brag. Plus, Bailey fumbled into the end zone and there was no angle/ballsy ref to call you on it. You lucked out big time so don’t act like it was all you. That said, you’ll probably win this week.

Early picks?
Seattle 21, Carolina 20
Denver 17, Pittsburgh 16

Good SNL sketch…sketchy movie.

Never read the books but the movie wasn’t that great. Prophecies about people we don’t really know or care about, even witches who want power but we don’t actually see the result of that power or any consequences. The villian is nothing compared to Sauron or even Darth Vader. Tons of SPFX which I give credit for…but a boring character is boring even if he’s a lion. Sorry Liam.

Man, is Washington the worst team in five years to win a playoff game? Too bad they can’t play the Bears this week in a 6-3 game.

Picks? Colts early, Colts often. The Steel running game has gotten worse over the season not better and Bettis isn’t enough to beat Indy. Neither is Cedrick “Cut Multiple Times” Wilson. Colts by two touchdowns.

I like the Carolina – Chicago game cos everyone is thinking the Bears ‘D’ will stand up and win it. I think the Panther defense does the same to the Bears as they did the Giants, only easier. I’ll take Carolina again, maybe by the same score 20-0.

Seattle and Washington? Seahawks don’t have many names on defense but still ride Shaun all the way to home field. Shaun is better than Cadillac and the DC boys won’t stop him the same way. Take Seattle by more than 9.

Denver and New England? Tough to say. I have thought Denver did it with mirrors all season…but the mirror was never broken. The Patriots are peaking just as they should and their defense might stop Denver’s “75% of all passing yards are on play-action” offense. I’ll take New England late or in overtime to ruin the donkey season.

Great job by the Texas horns taking the title.
That said…is Vince Young better than Matt Leinart?

See, Matt needs an offensive line … which is exactly why the Texans can’t take him. So given that Houston takes Reggie Bush and plays him at RB/WR/KR/PR. If you are New Orleans do you take Leinart, who won the Heisman year before this or take Vince Young, even though he’s not that different from Aaron Brooks? As good as Young is I’m not sure he’s what New Orleans needs. I think they need Leinart and the Titans need Young. The Titans take young and he turns into what Steve McNair was before his annual surgeries – a guy who can throw and run.

After that, take pity on whomever picks fourth cos it’s all downhill from there.
